2020 was marked by the Corona pandemic. At the same time, it was also the year that remote work and home office finally made a breakthrough.
For me personally, it was a good year. I was able to realize a childhood dream!
After my first public year in review in 2019, I am once again reflecting on the year that has just passed:

- ✅ Jogging routine established (15 – 20 km per week)
- ❌ ☕️ Coffee consumption still quite high (5 – 15 espressos a day)
💻 Work & Business
- ✅ Friendly: I have achieved one of my main goals, which I had set myself in the annual review 2019: the launch of a real product or startup. And it became not just one product, but two: Friendly Automate, the SME-friendly HubSpot alternative and Friendly Analytics, the privacy-friendly Google Analytics alternative 🥳
- ✅ Friendly: I got to share about the beginnings of Friendly on the Baremetrics blog, “I grew Friendly from zero to $1,000 MRR in 94 days building ethical marketing tools: Here’s how I did it.“
- ✅ Friendly: Our monthly recurring revenue (MRR) is currently $6,041, we are close to profitability
- ✅ Wortspiel: We helped the largest Swiss crowdfunding platform Wemakeit increase their leads by +25% with conversion optimization – at -18% cost
- ✅ Wortspiel: We were able to slightly increase the agency’s fee revenue in 2020
- ❌ Friendly: big

- ✅ First trip of my life to Southeast Asia (Thailand) – in January, before the Corona Lockdowns. Met many Digital Nomads.

- ✅ Overall, I am very satisfied with my life – professionally, I am living the dream

- I was able to realize my childhood dream of having my own software startup AND keep Wortspiel on a good course at the same time
